Assessments, XP, and Certificates

How to earn your free GeekHub AI and LLMs certificate, and how XP, streaks, and the leaderboard work.

Why we assess

Not to gate you. To make sure you actually internalized the material. Assessment is part of learning, not a hoop.

XP system

You earn XP by doing things. XP is just a motivator and a leaderboard ingredient. Defaults:

Submit a Hands-on Lab (with link or screenshot)20
Pass a module quiz50

Tier system

TierXP thresholdWhat it means
Bronze0 to 499You are learning the fundamentals
Silver500 to 1,499You are building real projects
Gold1,500 to 2,999You shipped the PDF chatbot
Platinum3,000+ and capstone shippedCourse master, eligible for certificate

Streaks

A streak is consecutive days you completed at least one of: lesson, quiz, lab, or community contribution.

  • 7-day streak: "Week Warrior" badge
  • 30-day streak: "Compound Builder" badge
  • 60-day streak: a unique animated avatar frame and a 200 XP boost

Tip: streaks are for momentum, not for guilt. Take days off. Pick up tomorrow.

Leaderboard

Course-only leaderboard, refreshes weekly. Top 3 each week get a "Hall of Fame" entry. Top 10 each season get a curated mention in the GeekHub newsletter.

Leaderboard signals are XP, capstone status, community helpfulness, and shipped projects.

Module quizzes

Every module ends with a 10-question quiz drawn from the lesson Quiz Questions. Passing bar: 7 of 10. Unlimited retries. We grade for understanding, not memorization.

Module projects

Two modules require a project submission:

  • Module 6: deployed chat app (with persona and streaming).
  • Module 9: deployed PDF chatbot (with citations and at least 5 test queries shown to work).

Submission: paste your GitHub URL + live demo URL into the module submission form. You self-attest, but the certificate review will sanity check before issuance.

Capstone requirements (for the certificate)

The "Multi-PDF Second Brain" capstone (see Projects and Capstone) must include:

  • Public GitHub repo with structured README and architecture diagram
  • Live deployed URL (Streamlit Cloud / HF Spaces / Vercel + Railway)
  • 60-second Loom or screen recording
  • eval/ directory with at least 20 cases and a runner; score ≥ 80% factual, 90% refusal on unknowns
  • docs/safety.yaml filled
  • Visible cost meter in UI
  • One real user (not you) tested it and gave feedback
  • Public launch post (GeekHub, LinkedIn, or X) linking the repo

Certificate

If you ship the capstone and pass all 12 module quizzes, you receive a free verifiable certificate with:

  • Your full name and GeekHub username
  • Date of completion
  • Capstone live URL + GitHub URL embedded
  • Public verification URL: geekhub.in/certificates/<short_id>
  • A QR code linking to the verification URL
  • The course version (so future hires can see when you finished)

The certificate is free, forever. No paywall. Verifiable on a public page so recruiters can confirm authenticity.

What the certificate is, and is not

Is:

  • Proof you finished a real, hands-on AI engineering course
  • A verifiable artifact linked to your real shipped projects
  • A foundation you can build on for the intermediate course

Is not:

  • A guarantee of a job (your portfolio, communication, and interviewing do that)
  • A substitute for a degree (it is a complement)
  • A claim of mastery (you are a credible junior, ready to grow)

How we prevent abuse

  • Capstone repos are spot-checked. AI-generated submissions with no real architecture get flagged.
  • Identity is verified via your GeekHub account (no anonymous certs).
  • Plagiarism: forks of someone else's capstone are detected and disqualified.
  • We do not chase you. We just verify before issuance.

Re-takes and second chances

You can re-take any quiz unlimited times. You can resubmit a capstone any time. We grade on whether your final version is solid, not your first attempt.

When the certificate is issued

  • Within 7 days of capstone submission.
  • You will receive an email with the public verification URL.
  • You can post it to LinkedIn (the page supports the LinkedIn "Add to profile" flow).

How to use your certificate

  • Add to your LinkedIn profile under "Licenses and certifications".
  • Embed the verification URL in your resume.
  • Pin the capstone repo on GitHub and link from the README.
  • Use the "I just earned the GeekHub AI and LLMs certificate" social post template provided in the email.

SEO Notes

  • Primary keyword: "AI course certificate"
  • Long-tail targets: "free verifiable AI certificate", "GeekHub AI certificate"
  • Internal links: capstone, career roadmap, leaderboard
